The National Crisis Response Academy (NCRA) offers a comprehensive suite of evidence-based training programs designed to equip law enforcement, first responders, and other members of the community with the skills to safely and effectively manage behavioral and Mental health crises. Our core offerings include the 40-Hour Crisis Intervention Training (CIT), the 40-Hour Youth Crisis Intervention Training (CIT-Y), the 24-Hour Advanced Crisis Intervention and Response Training (ACIRT), and an 8-Hour Annual Refresher Course to reinforce core competencies. What sets NCRA apart is our commitment to delivering modern, trauma-informed, and customizable instruction that goes beyond classroom theory. Our programs integrate real-world scenario training, community partnership development, and measurable performance outcomes—ensuring not only individual skill growth but also a lasting cultural transformation within each agency or entity we serve.
40-Hour CIT Core Program
$550/person (36 seats per class)

In this 40 hour training, topics will include Cultural Issues, Legal Concerns, Key components of Crisis Response and Visits from local organizations. Please see the attached document for a full list of topics that are included in this course.
Annual 8-hour refresher course/In-Service Training
$250/Student (36 seats per class)
This one-day refresher course is designed for individuals who have previously completed the 40-hour Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) or Youth CIT programs. The session provides a focused review of core de-escalation principles, updates on relevant laws and protocols, and scenario-based practice to reinforce confidence and skill retention in real-world crisis response situations.
Through interactive learning, peer discussion, and updated behavioral health insights, the refresher course helps agencies maintain a high standard of trauma-informed response while meeting continuing education requirements. Emphasis is placed on evolving community needs, officer wellness during high-stress encounters, and integrating CIT practices into agency-wide operations.
This course is recommended annually to ensure sustained effectiveness, reduce skill atrophy, and promote a culture of safe, informed, and compassionate policing.
40-Hour CIT-Youth Program
$350/person (24 seats per class)

In this 40 hour training, students will learn about Youth Specific response to Teen and Youth Crisis Response. Topics will include Educational Legal Environment, Trauma in Youth, Active Listening and more. Please see the attached document for a full list of topics that are included in this course.
Youth Student & Peer Support Team (SPST)
Program costs TBD
This program is introduced in the CIT-Y Training. The program will subscription/donation based using all proceeds put toward ongoing development of the program and training. This program is fully sponsored by the NCRA team with full curriculum, training, and follow up and tracking of the program. Teacher and Parent Support may be required to aid in the success of the program.
This program is a tiered training and can start as early as 6th grade level going all the way through college. This program will teach students to practice mindfulness and identify early signs of distress that need adult follow up. Students will NOT act as a responder; they are tasked with observation through Active Listening Skills (ALS) and reporting to Peer Support Mentors and Advisors or other emergency service entities such as Law Enforcement.
Participation by students in this program will only be after interview by NCRA staff and with recommendations by school personnel. Student will be required to maintain a certain GPA to maintain standing in the program.
Advanced Crisis Intervention and Response Training (ACIRT)
$700/person (20 seats per class)
This advanced-level course expands upon foundational CIT concepts by focusing on real-time escalation prevention, emotional regulation techniques for officers, and complex crisis dynamics such as suicide intervention, neurodivergence, and high-stress environments. Designed for those interested in furthering their CIT knowledge and enhances decision-making, communication under pressure, and post-incident evaluation practices.
Participants are required to attend the 40 CIT Core Program prior to attending this class.
